Mendoza, Argentina and Querétaro, Mexico launch child protection initiatives

The government of Mendoza province, together with the University of Mendoza, has introduced a free diploma program aimed at preventing and addressing violence against children and adolescents. The curriculum targets health, education, social work, psychology, legal professionals and staff of child‑focused institutions, providing theoretical and practical tools on rights promotion, early detection, intervention protocols and interdisciplinary prevention strategies. The hybrid format combines in‑person and virtual sessions and awards certification to participants who meet the academic requirements.

In Querétaro, Mexico, the State DIF’s Procuraduría Móvil program deployed mobile units to schools across seven municipalities, offering workshops, theater performances, storytelling, a “secret box”, and psychological consultations for students, parents and teachers. About 2,228 students, 797 parents and more than 100 teachers were served. The initiative seeks to prevent bullying, substance abuse, family‑communication gaps and mental‑health risks. Officials described the effort, saying, “Procu Móvil es un programa creado con el corazón, principalmente para que los jóvenes levanten la voz, se reconozcan las problemáticas y atenderlas, además buscamos prevenir y evitar situaciones de riesgo.”
