Mendoza, Argentina launches irrigation training for rural workers
The National Registry of Rural Workers and Employers (RENATRE) and the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) organized a training session on July 3 in San Rafael, Mendoza, focused on the maintenance of pressurized irrigation systems. The program combined theory and hands‑on practice, covering filter cleaning, valve and emitter upkeep, fault diagnosis and water‑saving techniques to improve system efficiency during the winter period.
The initiative was part of the provincial "Agua 360" and the Rural Employment Program, involving about 40 participants from the agricultural sector. Certificates were presented by Irrigation Superintendent Sergio Marinelli, UNCuyo Rector Esther Sánchez, INTA regional director Claudio Galmarini and university representative Valentina Erice. The training aims to boost technical skills, employability and sustainable water management among Mendoza’s rural workforce.
