Mendoza honors 148 figures for commitment to childhood rights

The Government of Mendoza has launched the first edition of the ‘Embajadores por las Infancias’ (Ambassadors for Childhood) distinction, recognizing 148 individuals and organizations for their commitment to protecting and promoting the rights of children and adolescents.

Among the honorees is the Cooperativa Eléctrica de Godoy Cruz (CEGC), which was named an ‘Embajadora por las Infancias’ for its sustained corporate social responsibility programs. The cooperative’s initiatives include sponsoring six nursery schools, collaborating with Child Activity Centers, and maintaining a strategic alliance with CONIN Argentina. Additionally, the entity provides essential equipment, such as high-capacity electrical generators, to the General Directorate for the Protection of Children, Adolescents, and Youth, and supports local food banks and reading programs.

The ceremony, held at the Teatro Independencia, also marked the launch of the ‘Red de Compromiso por las Infancias’ (Childhood Commitment Network). This new network aims to foster coordination between public agencies, institutions, and community leaders to strengthen policies and create safer environments for the development of younger generations.
