Mendoza investigation clears partner in hotel fall death

Authorities in Mendoza are investigating the death of 31-year-old Tamara Daniela Schiaffini, who fell from a fifth-floor window of the Hotel Aguas del Corral. The incident occurred in the early hours of a Thursday in the city's microcenter.

Initially, the victim's partner, 32-year-old Daniel Gazzoti, was detained as prosecutors activated a femicide protocol to preserve evidence and investigate all possibilities, including violence or suicide. Gazzoti claimed he attempted to grab Schiaffini as she sat on the window ledge, but was unable to prevent the fall.

However, subsequent investigations by the Homicide Prosecution Office concluded that the death was not a violent act involving third-party intervention. Following these findings, Gazzoti was released after providing a statement. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the fall.
