Mendoza inaugurates Cuyo Regional Center for Fetal Medicine

The Cuyo Regional Center for Fetal Medicine has been inaugurated at the Hospital Luis Lagomaggiore in Mendoza, Argentina. This facility is the first public hospital service of its kind in the country's interior, designed to provide high-complexity prenatal diagnoses and intrauterine treatments.

The center is a key component of the Cuyo Fetal Medicine Project, an initiative by the Mendoza Ministry of Health and Sports aimed at reducing maternal and infant mortality rates. The project seeks to establish Mendoza as a regional hub for the specialty through advanced technology, scientific evidence, and integrated healthcare networks.

The launch coincides with the I Cuyano and Trans-Andean Conferences on Maternal-Fetal Medicine, co-organized by the UNCUYO Faculty of Medical Sciences, the Mendoza Ministry of Health and Sports, and the Mendoza Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The UNCUYO Institute of Genetics will participate by providing training in prenatal genetic study techniques, including cytogenetic and molecular diagnosis methodologies.
