Mendoza inaugurates forest honoring Nova Festival victims
A symbolic green space, the KKL Nova Forest, was inaugurated in Mendoza, Argentina, to honor the 417 people killed during the Nova Festival attack on October 7, 2023. Located near the Nave Cultural in the Ciudad district, this site marks the first memorial for the attack established outside of Israel.
The forest features 417 trees, representing each victim, centered around a commemorative monument and pedestrian walkways. The project was made possible through an agreement between the local municipality and Keren Kayemet LeIsrael (KKL).
The ceremony was attended by Mendoza Governor Alfredo Cornejo, Mayor Ulpiano Suarez, representatives from Israeli associations, and family members of the victims. During the event, officials emphasized the importance of memory and the rejection of terrorism and intolerance.
