Mendoza Physical Education Congress Draws Over 1,000 Teachers

The second edition of the Physical Education Congress was held on August 4‑5 in Guaymallén, Mendoza. Organized by the Dirección General de Escuelas (DGE) together with the Subsecretaría de Deportes, local universities and the municipality, the free event attracted more than a thousand teachers, students and professionals.

Participants attended conferences, workshops and reflective sessions on inclusive teaching, new methodologies and the role of sport in holistic education. Key officials—including Subsecretary of Education Claudia Ferrari, DGE coordinator Gabriel Carbonari, Education Minister Tadeo García Zalazar and Guaymallén Mayor Marcos Calvente—spoke at the opening and second‑day sessions, emphasizing the importance of continuous professional development for educators.

The congress aimed to strengthen continuous training, promote exchange of best practices and foster strategies that encourage movement, teamwork and health‑focused pedagogy across all educational levels in the province.
