Mendoza updates enrollment dates for Agricultural Compensatory Fund
The Mendoza Government, through the Ministry of Production and the Directorate of Climate Contingencies, has announced a change in the enrollment dates for the Agricultural Compensatory Fund for the 2026/27 season. Enrollment will now take place from Tuesday, August 25, until September 20.
The fund serves as an economic safeguard for agricultural producers against weather-related damages, specifically targeting losses caused by hail and frost. Producers can pay via a single lump sum or in four consecutive monthly installments. Those who join through cooperatives or associations are eligible for a 10% discount. Both installments and compensation amounts will be adjusted according to the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
The program offers different levels of coverage. The specific hail coverage provides a maximum indemnity of $1,500,000 per hectare for vineyards and fruit trees, and $200,000 for vegetables. An initial coverage option includes both hail and frost protection, with a maximum indemnity of $1,000,000 per hectare for vineyards and fruit trees, and $200,000 for vegetables. Premiums vary depending on the specific oasis and crop type.
