Menemen Municipality honors former mayor Tahir Şahin
The Menemen Municipal Council has decided to name two public locations in honor of Tahir Şahin, a former mayor who served four terms and passed away last year.
According to the council's September session, the Gölpark facility will be renamed the Menemen Municipality Tahir Şahin Gölpark Facility. Additionally, Karanfil Street will be officially renamed Tahir Şahin Street.
Mayor Aydın Pehlivan stated that the decision was made in consultation with Şahin’s family to honor his contributions to the district. Pehlivan emphasized that the gesture is intended to recognize those who have served the community regardless of political distinctions.
