Meninos da Floresta concludes summer program in Abrantes

The Meninos da Floresta project in Abrantes, Portugal, concluded its summer season with a community festival at the former Dr. Raul Figueiredo Primary School. The program focuses on nature-based activities, such as gardening, building forts, and outdoor play, specifically designed to engage children without mobile devices.

Project leader Maria Heleno reported high demand throughout the summer, noting that the program frequently reached its capacity of 35 children per week, often resulting in waiting lists. The closing festival featured workshops, nature activities, music, and a swap market, serving as both a celebration for participants and an introduction to the project for the wider community.
