Menlo College student Andres Aguilar charged with second rape

Nineteen‑year‑old Menlo College student Andres Aguilar, previously accused of drugging and raping a 12‑year‑old girl in his dorm at the college in Atherton, now faces an additional rape charge after police say a second victim, a 17‑year‑old girl, was assaulted. Prosecutors allege Aguilar gave the teenager alcohol and then raped her in San Jose on April 4. A search warrant on Aguilar’s phone uncovered texts from the victim, leading authorities to locate her after her parents tracked her phone. The parents confronted Aguilar, who allegedly drove the teen to his dorm, left her there, and stole her bank card and cash. In the earlier case, Aguilar is said to have given the 12‑year‑old marijuana and alcohol, forced her despite her protests, and ordered emergency contraception via DoorDash. District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe and Deputy District Attorney Kara Szkotak commented on the under‑reporting of sexual assault on college campuses.
