Menlo Park developer expands Parkline housing and retail plans
Lane Partners is amending its Parkline redevelopment plan for the former SRI International campus in Menlo Park. The revised proposal increases the total housing count to 1,082 units, adding 282 more than previous plans. The development will include 754 rental apartments, 108 townhouses, and 220 single-family homes, with 15 percent designated as below-market-rate.
To accommodate the increased density, office buildings may rise to 150 feet, which is 40 feet higher than the previous maximum. The plan also replaces an office amenity building with a 40,000-square-foot retail village intended for neighborhood services such as restaurants and fitness providers. The project will feature nearly 27 acres of open space and a dedicated 2.7-acre parcel for potential recreational use.
In response to the expansion, Menlo Park Councilmember Jeff Schmidt has urged the city to conduct a broader traffic review before approving the project or other major developments in the area.
