Menominee Tribe revises Kenosha casino site plan
The Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin has revised the site plan for its proposed Hard Rock casino project in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in response to feedback during a federal review process.
The updated proposal includes a 150-room hotel, approximately 1,500 slot machines, over 50 table games, and a sports betting area. To improve environmental performance and manage stormwater runoff, the tribe plans to consolidate parking on the west side of the development rather than using parcels east of Frontage Road. One parcel, previously intended for parking, will now be used to enhance water retention and stormwater management.
As part of the revisions, the tribe determined that not all land needs to be placed into federal trust; consequently, one parcel has been removed from the trust application and will remain subject to local taxes and regulations. The project, developed in conjunction with Hard Rock International, involves a planned investment of $360 million.
