Menopause care access faces challenges in Canada and US

A new report from GreenShield highlights significant barriers to menopause care in Canada, revealing that 40 per cent of Canadian women do not know where to seek support. The challenges are more pronounced among racialized women, with 45 per cent reporting they are unaware of where to seek help for perimenopause or menopause symptoms. Additionally, a survey by Ipsos found that 33 per cent of Canadian women wait more than two years for effective care due to symptom confusion and dismissed concerns.

In the United States, The Menopause Society estimates that approximately 1.3 million women reach menopause annually. Ahead of World Menopause Day on October 18, Denver Regenerative Medicine is promoting expanded access to hormone care through its Fort Collins office. The clinic offers in-person consultations with specialist teams and provides virtual follow-up appointments for hormone therapy and weight management to improve patient scheduling and continuity of care.
