Menopause transition can impact cognitive function and productivity
The transition to menopause can lead to cognitive symptoms such as memory lapses, difficulty concentrating, and a sensation of “brain fog.” These symptoms, which include trouble finding words or organizing tasks, can impact both professional and personal productivity.
According to gynecologist Dr. Carolina Arrabal, these changes are linked to hormonal fluctuations rather than a loss of intellectual capacity. Other menopause-related symptoms, such as insomnia, hot flashes, anxiety, and mood swings, can further exacerbate cognitive difficulties by compromising sleep and daytime alertness.
