Menorca airport handles emergency flight diversion

A flight traveling from Oran, Algeria, to Marseille, France, was forced to divert to Menorca due to a medical emergency. A passenger on board suffered a severe asthma attack, prompting the crew to request immediate assistance.

Air traffic controllers in the Balearic Islands and the Son Sant Joan control center coordinated the emergency response. Protocols were activated to clear the runway and ensure access to the Menorca airport, which was the nearest operational facility. Medical teams at Maó aerodrome were deployed to provide ground assistance, and the passenger was successfully transported to a local hospital.
