Menorca hosts art debut for researcher and tribute for physician

In Menorca, medical researcher and pathologist Santiago Ramón y Cajal is debuting his first art exhibition titled ‘Canciones sin letra’ (Songs Without Lyrics). The exhibition, which features two series of paintings, is hosted at the Es Molí de Foc restaurant in Sant Climent and will remain on display until November 1. Ramón y Cajal, who has spent decades studying cancer and molecular pathology, stated that his goal is to convey joy and positivity through his work, much like the feeling of enjoying a melody without understanding the lyrics.

Meanwhile, a tribute was held at the Es Baluard Museu to honor the late Javier Cortés, a prominent gynecologist and medical researcher. Cortés, a former president of the AECC in the Balearic Islands and recipient of the 2020 Ramon Llull Prize, was recognized for his significant contributions to cancer prevention and his compassionate approach to patient care. The ceremony included musical performances and speeches from colleagues and family members, celebrating his professional legacy and human values.
