Menorca recovers from severe storms and widespread damage
Menorca is recovering from a severe storm characterized by heavy wind and rain, which caused widespread damage across the island. Emergency services, including firefighters and road brigades, responded to nearly 70 incidents involving fallen trees, collapsed walls, downed telephone poles, and power outages.
Significant damage was reported in several areas, including residential complexes in Es Canutells and Son Vitamina, as well as damage to the coastline in Sant Lluís. In Binisafua, crews have begun using cranes to remove boats damaged by the storm.
While Sunday is expected to be sunny and hot with temperatures between 30 and 34 degrees Celsius, weather forecasts indicate a risk of rain, storms, and rissagas (coastal surges) returning on Monday.
