Primiero hosts 2026 MTB Marathon World Championships

At the 2026 MTB Marathon World Championships in Primiero, Italy, Andreas Seewald (Germany) claimed the men’s title using a KTM Scarp Evo 4 32 prototype. This marks the first UCI world title won with 32-inch wheels, a format recently permitted by UCI regulations. Seewald completed the 95 km course with 4,000 meters of elevation gain in 4:33:47, leading a strong Italian contingent that included podium finishers Gioele De Cosmo and Jakob Dorigoni.

In the women’s race, Swiss athlete Anna Weinbeer secured the world championship title. Weinbeer dominated the 95 km course, maintaining a solo lead for over 70 km to finish in 5:30:54. Claudia Peretti took the silver medal, followed by Mona Mitterwallner in third.

Other regional sporting events included the SprintChampion youth sprinting championships in Bolzano, the Maratonina di Mestre running event, and various local competitions in basketball, roller skating, and sky running across Italy.
