Mental health awareness events in France focus on art

Various regions in France are hosting events for Mental Health Information Weeks, focusing on the intersection of art and psychological well-being.

In Guebwiller, the CLSM de Guebwiller Rouffach is organizing a screening of the documentary ‘Soyons fous’ at Cinéma Le Florival on October 9. The film follows a group of individuals with psychological disorders collaborating on an adventure film. The screening will be followed by a debate with artist and peer supporter Laurent Lefebvre regarding the role of art in recovery.

In Sens, the theme ‘For our mental health, let us open ourselves to the arts’ guides a series of activities. Scheduled events include suicide risk assessment training for professionals, an artistic workshop and photography exhibition titled ‘Paysages imaginaires’ featuring Alexandra Grossman, and wellness sessions such as laughter yoga and reflexology. Other community activities include perinatal mental health discussions for healthcare professionals and family-oriented workshops in Villemanoche involving circus arts and music.
