Mental health awareness focuses on cognitive load and corporate wellness programs
Mental health initiatives and challenges are being addressed through both clinical perspectives and corporate wellness programs. In Mexico, Dr. Lorena Reyes Santos of Centro Médico ABC highlights the impact of the invisible mental load on women. This cognitive burden involves the constant effort of planning and organizing household and family life, which can lead to chronic anxiety, depression, and emotional exhaustion if left unaddressed.
In Ecuador, Banco Pichincha has expanded its mental health support for over 6,300 employees and their families. The bank provides free psychological sessions and has inaugurated physical psychological care centers in Quito, with a new facility planned for Guayaquil. These programs aim to mitigate the effects of stress and economic uncertainty on worker well-being across the country.
