Mental health awareness initiatives held in Brazil and Portugal
Various community initiatives are being held in Brazil and Portugal to mark Mental Health Month and World Mental Health Day.
In Apucarana, Brazil, the Mental Health Service is organizing a kite festival and picnic at Parque da Raposa. The event, initiated by residents of the Multiprofessional Mental Health Residency Program at the CAPS AD center, aims to promote social interaction and leisure for service users. The program includes a kite-making workshop followed by outdoor activities to encourage community integration.
In Barcelos, Portugal, known as the World Capital of Mental Health, a diverse program of activities is scheduled throughout October. This includes the 'Festival Mental – M Jovem' international short film showcase, musical performances such as 'My Story, My Song', and the 'M-Talk' debate regarding the history of mental health in Portugal. The month of activities concludes with the 'Há Música ao Fundo do Túnel' solidarity gala.
