Mental health awareness and well-being initiatives in Poland
Various initiatives and studies in Poland are highlighting the importance of holistic mental health. In Krosno, the State Academy of Applied Sciences (PANS) hosted a conference titled “Mental Health - a Holistic Approach to Man,” marking the end of Mental Health Week. Experts at the event discussed how modern stressors, such as social media, loneliness, and the rise of AI chatbots as artificial companions, impact psychological well-being.
Additionally, a campaign by the online therapy platform Pleso, organized for World Mental Health Day, analyzed the nocturnal thoughts of participants. The data revealed that 77% of people's nighttime concerns revolve around personal life, including relationships, work, and studies, with self-esteem, loneliness, and the fear of falling behind being primary themes.
Health experts also emphasize the connection between physical habits and mental stability, noting that seasonal changes, reduced sunlight, and dietary choices—such as consuming fermented products to support gut microbiota—can influence mood and energy levels.
