Mental Health Awareness Week scheduled for October 2026

The nationwide Mental Health Awareness Week will take place from October 10 to 20, 2026. Coordinated by the Aktionsbündnis Seelische Gesundheit for 20 years, the initiative focuses on exchange, destigmatization, and prevention under the theme ‘Together, where every psyche counts.’

In Berlin-Spandau, local initiatives will promote mindful smartphone use within families, involving daycare centers and community meeting points. In Heidelberg, the University Hospital will host programs emphasizing that mental health crises should not lead to social withdrawal. Other regional activities include information offerings in the Enzkreis and Pforzheim areas, as well as specialized symposiums in Freudenstadt.

International efforts are also underway, with Luxembourg’s Ligue Santé Mentale organizing its fifth Mental Health Week from October 5 to 17, featuring approximately 140 different actions.
