Mental health challenges rise among Polish youth
Mental health challenges among children and adolescents are becoming a significant issue in Polish schools. According to the ‘Diagnoza Młodzieży 2026’ report, over half a million children and teenagers in Poland meet the criteria for mental disorders, including anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation difficulties.
Experts emphasize that mental health is a fundamental requirement for effective learning. In response to these growing challenges, the Lower Silesian Social Policy Center has released a free guide titled ‘W dobrym stanie’ (In Good Condition). The publication, which has an initial print run of 10,000 copies, is designed to help children, youth, adults, and seniors recognize signs of psychological crisis and understand when to seek professional help from psychologists or psychiatrists.
The guide is being distributed to schools, clinics, hospitals, and social assistance centers across the Lower Silesia region. It also provides essential emergency contact numbers, including the 24-hour emotional support line for adults (116 123) and the helpline for children and youth (116 111).
