Mental health trends show rising AI use for relationship advice and new tools for crisis support
Increasing numbers of individuals are turning to artificial intelligence, such as ChatGPT, for advice regarding intimate relationship issues and emotional crises, often bypassing friends, family, or professional therapists. While AI can provide immediate feedback and identify patterns like toxic dynamics or narcissistic behaviors, psychologists note the potential risks of relying on technology for complex emotional support.
In response to mental health challenges, the Foundation 'Życie Warte Jest Rozmowy', in collaboration with the PZU Foundation, has released Poland’s first interactive film titled ‘Siła relacji. Rozmowa, która ratuje życie’ (The Power of Relationships. A Conversation That Saves Lives). The project aims to teach emotional first aid, specifically how to communicate with individuals experiencing psychological crises or suicidal thoughts. The interactive format allows viewers to make decisions and see how different conversational approaches impact a person in distress, emphasizing the importance of listening and knowing when to involve professionals.
