The legend of ‘Los Monitos de Meoqui’ marks 39 years since the reported sightings in Meoqui, Chihuahua. On October 11, 1987, a group of children in the Barrio Nuevo neighborhood reportedly observed an intense light in the sky, leading to encounters with small beings at the Alvídrez family home.

According to local testimonies, the beings were approximately 20 centimeters tall, possessed green skin, black eyes, and a reddish light on their chests. They were described as floating slightly above the ground and communicating in an unusual manner. The event gained significant attention after one child was reportedly injured during an interaction and required medical attention at the Mexican Red Cross.

The story, which was documented by local journalist Manuel Briseño, has since become a significant part of the collective memory and a reference point for UFO phenomena in the region.
