Paraguay Ministry of Economy and Finance begins September public salary payments

The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) has initiated the September payment schedule for public sector salaries and social benefits in Paraguay. The first phase of disbursements, starting Wednesday, September 23, includes payments to Chaco War pensioners, senior citizens, and other state beneficiaries, totaling over G. 14,841 million for 5,701 individuals.

This group includes various beneficiaries such as widows of veterans, persons with disabilities, and heirs of police and military personnel who died in the line of duty. Additionally, over 376,000 beneficiaries of the Elderly Food Pension Program, managed by the Ministry of Social Development, are scheduled to receive approximately G. 250,000 million this month.

The payment calendar continues through the end of the month. Thursday, September 24, is designated for public pension system retirees (Caja Fiscal). Friday, September 25, will see payments for administrative officials and Ministry of Health personnel. Following a pause for a holiday on Monday, September 28, disbursements will resume on Tuesday, September 29, for public forces, the Judiciary, and regional governments, concluding on September 30 with educators and public university staff.
