Ömer Kutluay selected for Turkish National Basketball Team

Ömer Kutluay, the son of former national basketball player İbrahim Kutluay and Demet Şener, has been selected for the Turkish National Basketball Team. The young player, who currently plays in the Real Madrid youth academy, earned the selection following his performance at the FIBA U17 Men's Basketball World Cup.

Demet Şener expressed her pride regarding the achievement on social media, stating, “What a great pride!” This milestone fulfills a long-held ambition for Kutluay, who previously noted in an interview that playing for the national team was a dream he had shared while watching his older brothers.

The selection also highlights a period of reconciliation between his parents. Following a divorce in 2018, Demet Şener and İbrahim Kutluay have reportedly moved past previous grievances to maintain a positive relationship for the sake of their children, Ömer and İrem.
