Merano Wine Festival launches second edition in Calabria
The Merano Wine Festival’s second Calabria edition will be held from June 5 to June 8 in the towns of Melissa, Cirò and Cirò Marina. The four‑day event will host about 150 wine producers and attract international buyers, journalists and restaurateurs, with participants coming from Brazil, Poland, Germany and the Netherlands.
Regional Agriculture Assessor Gianluca Gallo and festival patron Helmut Kocher opened the press conference, stressing the strategic role of the festival in promoting Calabrian wine heritage and the region’s image abroad. Local mayors, wine consortium leaders and Arsac officials highlighted the collaborative effort to boost tourism, market access and cultural identity through the showcase of Calabrian wines such as Cirò and Melissa varieties.
