San Juan Municipal Market celebrates 70th anniversary

The Municipal Market of San Juan celebrated its 70th anniversary with a series of commemorative events. The festivities, held under the theme ‘70 years of work, encounter, and Sanjuanina identity’, included artistic performances, the creation of a live mural, and a traditional chocolate and churros gathering.

During the ceremony, Mayor Susana Laciar and Minister of Production Gustavo Fernández inaugurated a new museum within the market. This space is dedicated to preserving the historical heritage of the site, featuring items such as traditional plows and harvesting tools. The event honored the generations of vendors, producers, and workers who have contributed to the market's role as a vital commercial and social hub for the city.
