Mercado do Porto workers undergo emergency training in Cuiabá

The Mercado do Porto in Cuiabá is advancing through a critical stage of its regulatory process by training an emergency brigade. Between September 14 and 17, 25 individuals—including staff, security guards, and vendors—participated in a 16-hour intensive course covering first aid, fire prevention, and emergency response.

This training is a mandatory requirement for obtaining the Fire Department's safety permit. The initiative follows recent milestones where the market secured its first-ever location and operating permit, as well as sanitary surveillance licenses.

In addition to personnel training, the Municipal Secretariat of Works is finalizing the installation of fire safety infrastructure, such as hydrants, extinguishers, and strategic signaling. Fellipe Corrêa, the Municipal Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism, and Agriculture, stated that these efforts aim to definitively resolve long-standing structural issues to ensure the safety of workers and visitors.
