Mercado Libre contributed 106,400 million pesos to Mexico's economy

Mercado Libre reported a direct and indirect economic impact of over 106,400 million pesos in Mexico during 2025, representing approximately 0.4% of the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

According to the ‘Efecto MELI’ report, the company's ecosystem was linked to more than 136,800 jobs in Mexico, including over 34,300 direct positions. The study also highlighted the role of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), noting that more than 220,000 SMEs sold products through the marketplace in 2025. For 51% of these businesses, the platform served as their primary sales channel, and for 68%, it marked their first experience with online sales.
