Mercado Libre opens largest Argentine logistics center in Escobar

Mercado Libre has inaugurated its largest storage center in Argentina, located in Escobar. Developed in partnership with Plaza Logística, the project represents a joint investment of US$ 115 million.

The facility covers more than 100,000 square meters and is designed to store up to 2 million items while processing as many as 130,000 products per day. The project is expected to generate over 1,300 direct jobs by 2028 when it reaches full operational capacity. Currently, 40,000 square meters have been enabled, with an additional 60,000 square meters planned for completion by March 2027.

This expansion is part of Mercado Libre’s broader US$ 3.4 billion investment plan for Argentina announced for 2026. The new infrastructure aims to strengthen the company's logistics network, facilitate 24-hour deliveries, and manage high-demand periods such as Cyber Monday and the year-end holiday season.
