Mercado Pago launches Dinero Blindado security feature
Mercado Pago has launched a new security feature called ‘Dinero Blindado’ designed to protect users' financial information in the event of phone loss or theft. The tool allows users to hide specific balances and restrict certain operations when the device is not connected to trusted networks.
To activate the service, users must configure their trusted Wi-Fi networks, such as those at home or work, through the app’s security section. When the device leaves these designated environments, the system automatically applies restrictions. These protections can include hiding account balances and investment amounts in both pesos and dollars, as well as limiting transfers and the buying or selling of US dollars.
