Mercado Pago launches MAGO AI assistant for financial management

Mercado Pago has introduced MAGO, an artificial intelligence personal assistant designed to transform how users interact with its financial platform. Instead of navigating through various menus and sections, users can manage their finances using natural language via text, voice, images, or documents.

The assistant integrates over 100 functionalities, allowing users to perform tasks such as paying utility bills, checking account movements, organizing payments, preparing transfers, and detecting potential fraud. MAGO interprets user requests and accesses authorized account data to prepare actions, though users must review and confirm sensitive operations before execution.

Following an initial rollout in Chile, where the company reported more than 2.2 million conversations during the first weeks of operation, the tool is now being deployed in Mexico. The technology aims to simplify financial management by allowing the AI to find necessary functions within the ecosystem based on the user's specific needs.
