MercadoLibre revenue exceeds $10 billion in Q2 2026

MercadoLibre reported strong second-quarter 2026 results, with revenue exceeding $10 billion for the first time, representing a 50% increase year-over-year. On a currency-neutral basis, revenue growth stood at 43%.

The company's growth is driven by its integrated ecosystem. The number of ecosystem users—those utilizing both the marketplace and the Mercado Pago fintech platform—increased by 37%. Mercado Pago's monthly active users rose by 30% to 88 million, and the platform processed $100.95 billion in total payments, a 56% increase compared to the previous year.

Despite the revenue surge, operating margins fell to 6.7% due to aggressive investments in lower prices, free shipping, and financial products. In the commerce segment, Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV) grew by 36% (FX-neutral), bolstered significantly by a 57% GMV increase in Brazil following reductions in delivery costs. While these investments have pressured short-term margins, they are intended to build long-term scale and user loyalty across Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and Chile.
