Mercadona and Soriana implement seasonal changes and promotions

Major retailers in Spain and Mexico are implementing operational changes and promotional campaigns for the September return to routine.

In Spain, Mercadona is transitioning from summer schedules back to its standard operating hours, which typically run from 9:00 to 21:30, Monday through Saturday. This includes ending extended evening hours and Sunday openings in tourist areas. Additionally, the company is testing a new T9 store format in Xirivella, Valencia, designed to optimize internal processes through redesigned aisles and products displayed on pallets. Meanwhile, Grupo Dia is investing 15 million euros in weekly discounts of up to 40% on various products to support consumer budgets.

In Mexico, Soriana has launched food promotions valid through September 17, focusing on its Valley Foods brands. Furthermore, FAZT and Soriana have partnered to offer 24 hours of free electric vehicle charging at 31 Soriana locations across several Mexican states to promote electromobility.
