Mercadona introduces ATENEA AI platform for software development

Mercadona has introduced ATENEA, a proprietary artificial intelligence platform designed to assist its technological teams in software development. The tool aims to increase the speed, efficiency, and quality of software creation by integrating the company's specific knowledge and context into the development cycle.

Currently utilized by more than 500 engineers within the company, the platform coordinates specialized agents to perform various tasks autonomously. CTO Sergio Pajares emphasized that the AI is intended to serve as a support for professionals rather than a replacement for technical decision-making, noting the importance of setting clear limits and objectives to prevent errors.
