Turkish television series launch new seasons and productions
Several Turkish television series are making headlines as new seasons and productions launch.
ATV’s new series ‘Mercan Köşk’ has premiered, featuring a story of two rival families and an impossible love. The production is filmed in Tarsus, Mersin, utilizing the historic Hayyürnisa Konağı—a building restored by the Tarsus Municipality—alongside local orange groves. The cast includes Kubilay Aka and Hafsanur Sancaktutan.
On Kanal D, the series ‘Daha 17’ continues its high-stakes drama. Recent plot developments involve character Aras discovering that Teoman is actually his long-lost brother, Demir, though the revelation is complicated by a medical cover-up and a sudden injury to another character, Serhat.
TRT 1 is also seeing activity with ‘Gönül Dağı’ entering its seventh season, focusing on changes in the town of Gedelli, and the upcoming series ‘Evlilik Güzeldir,’ which centers on a marriage official and his five daughters. This production is set to be filmed at studios in Darıca, Kocaeli.
Additionally, Kanal D’s ‘Haysiyet’ has released a new preview featuring the folk song ‘Sivas’ın Yolları,’ set in the Balat district of Istanbul.
