Mercari to host immersive pop culture exhibition in Harajuku

Mercari will host a five-day immersive event titled ‘Sekai no Dareka no Oshi Beya Ten’ (Someone's Favorite Room Exhibition) at WITH HARAJUKU in Tokyo from October 28 to November 1, 2026. Held in cooperation with Surugaya, the exhibition focuses on the growing popularity of Japanese pop culture items in cross-border transactions.

The event will feature reconstructed “favorite rooms” belonging to fictional fans living in the United States, France, and Taiwan. Each room will be composed of over 1,000 items actually traded via Mercari, illustrating the global circulation of value for Japanese goods. Visitors can interact with the displayed items, listen to music on records, and read foreign-language manga.
