Mercedes-AMG confronts GT3 parts shortage amid launch of new 2026 GLE 63 S SUV

Mercedes-Benz unveiled the 2026 Mercedes‑AMG GLE 63 S, a high‑performance SUV equipped with a updated 4.0‑litre biturbo V8, flat‑plane crankshaft, mild‑hybrid system and 612 hp, achieving 0‑100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of up to 280 km/h. The model receives a redesigned front fascia, new LED lighting, expanded wheel options and a range of exclusive paint finishes.

At the same time, Mercedes‑AMG’s GT3 racing programme is experiencing a spare‑parts shortage after the transition from long‑time partner HWA to the in‑house Affalterbach Racing GmbH. Teams have had to borrow components, fabricate parts on‑site and delay race entries, with shortages reported for gear‑box parts, suspension links and even headlights. The scarcity is linked to insolvent suppliers and the time needed to qualify new sources. Mercedes‑AMG expects conditions to improve within the next few weeks, but the shortage continues to affect 24‑hour events at the Nürburgring, Le Mans and Spa‑Francorchamps.
