Mercedes-AMG E53 Hybrid debuts in India

Mercedes-Benz India has launched the Mercedes-AMG E53 Hybrid 4MATIC+, the first electrified AMG sedan in the E-Class lineage to be released in the Indian market. The vehicle is positioned as a bridge between traditional internal combustion engines and fully electric mobility.

The sedan features a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder petrol engine producing 449 hp, paired with a 120 kW electric motor integrated into a nine-speed transmission. Together, they deliver a combined output of 585 hp and 750 Nm of torque. A “RACE START” function can temporarily increase the total output to 612 hp, enabling the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.

The model is available in two versions: the Performance Edition priced at ₹1.45 crore and the Racing Edition priced at ₹1.48 crore (ex-showroom).
