Mercedes-AMG electric CLA 45 sets 7:32 Nürburgring lap record
Mercedes‑AMG’s 500 kW electric CLA 45 4MATIC+ completed a notarised lap of the full 20.832 km Nürburgring‑Nordschleife on 28 July, driven by Kevin Berger. The time of 7 minutes 32.070 seconds makes it the fastest four‑door electric sport sedan in its segment, beating the Audi RS 3 (7:33.123) and the Honda Civic Type R (7:44.881).
The record does not surpass the overall compact‑car benchmark held by the BMW M2 CS (7:25.534) and is well behind the AMG One hypercar (6:29). Mercedes‑AMG positions the CLA 45 as the quickest production sedan in its class on the Nordschleife, highlighting the performance potential of its three axial‑flux motors and the AMG Dynamic Plus package.
