Mercedes-AMG GT 53 electric 4‑Door Coupe unveiled with record range

Mercedes‑AMG has launched the GT 53 4‑Door Coupe as the entry‑level model of its second‑generation electric GT range. The car is powered by two permanent‑magnet synchronous motors delivering a combined peak output of 400 kW (544 hp) and 800 Nm of torque, with a continuous output of 270 kW. It accelerates from 0‑100 km/h in about 3.5‑3.9 seconds and is limited to 230 km/h (250 km/h with the optional AMG Driver’s Package).

The GT 53 uses a 106 kWh, 800‑volt battery that provides a WLTP‑certified range of 682‑809 km (up to 880 km in urban driving). Fast‑charging at up to 600 kW can add roughly 534 km of range in ten minutes. The vehicle features a two‑speed transmission, all‑wheel drive 4MATIC+, adaptive air‑suspension, and a simulated inline‑six engine sound recorded from the previous‑generation AMG E 53.

Pricing starts around €115,430 in Germany and Italy, with sales beginning in Germany on 13 August 2026 and orders opening in Italy in September. The model is also being considered for markets such as Australia.
