Mercedes-AMG unveils limited CLE 646 Spezialanfertigung V8 coupe

Mercedes-AMG has officially unveiled the CLE 646 Spezialanfertigung, the second model in its ultra-exclusive Mythos series. This limited-production vehicle is restricted to only 30 units worldwide, all of which were reportedly sold prior to the official global debut.

Built on the platform of the CLE 53, the new model undergoes significant engineering changes to prioritize track performance. It features a 4.0-liter M177 EVO V8 biturbo engine producing 646 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque, aided by a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. Unlike its predecessor, the CLE 646 utilizes a rear-wheel-drive configuration and an Akrapovič titanium exhaust system.

To enhance driving dynamics and reduce weight, engineers removed the 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system and several luxury features. The car is 170 kg lighter than the standard model, utilizing carbon fiber for the hood, fenders, roof, and spoilers, alongside polycarbonate rear windows. The interior has been stripped of rear seats to accommodate carbon racing shells and a roll cage. The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 310 km/h.
