Mercedes-AMG unveils GT SUV electric high-performance model

Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the GT SUV, the first full-size SUV developed entirely in-house by the performance division. Built on the dedicated AMG. EA electric platform, the vehicle is designed to blend sports car dynamics with SUV practicality.

The lineup includes three variants: the entry-level GT 53, the GT 55, and the flagship GT 63. The top-tier GT 63 utilizes three axial flux motors—developed by YASA—to produce up to 1,169 horsepower, enabling a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in approximately 2.5 to 2.7 seconds.

Technical highlights include an 800-volt electrical architecture and battery options of 106 kWh or 128 kWh. The larger battery supports DC fast charging up to 710 kW, which can add up to 450 km of range in 10 minutes. The GT 63 and GT 55 offer a maximum WLTP range of up to 700 km.

Orders for the GT 53 are expected to open in Germany on October 20, 2026, with the GT 55 and GT 63 versions scheduled to follow in spring 2027.
