Mercedes-Benz and Bentley reveal details for new electric luxury SUVs

Luxury automakers Mercedes-Benz and Bentley are advancing their electric vehicle lineups with new SUV models.

Mercedes-Benz has revealed interior details for the upcoming AMG GT SUV. The cabin features a 10.2-inch instrument display and a 14-inch central touchscreen, alongside three rotary controllers for engine and stability settings. The vehicle is expected to offer three performance specifications: the GT 53 (400 kW), GT 55 (600 kW), and GT 63 (860 kW). To compensate for increased weight and air resistance, the SUV will likely utilize a 130 kWh battery capacity. A formal presentation is anticipated around the Paris Motor Show in mid-October.

Bentley is preparing for the debut of the Torcal, its first series-production electric SUV. Positioned below the Bentayga in the model hierarchy, the Torcal will be under five meters in length. Built on the PPE platform shared with Audi and Porsche, it will feature an 800V architecture supporting charging speeds up to 350 kW and a range of approximately 560 kilometers. Bentley aims to balance luxury with craftsmanship, utilizing extensive leatherwork and mechanical elements rather than an overwhelming number of digital screens.
