Mercedes-Benz and Marcopolo launch Agro Tech Bus for rural transport

Mercedes-Benz and Marcopolo have introduced the Ideale 800 Agro Tech Bus, a vehicle specifically engineered to handle a combination of highways and unpaved rural roads. Built on the Mercedes-Benz OF 1619 chassis, the bus is designed to transport workers in demanding sectors such as agribusiness, mining, cellulose, and industrial operations.

To navigate difficult terrain including mud, sand, and rocks, the vehicle features several mechanical adaptations. These include a 100-millimeter increase in ground clearance, an automatic rear differential lock to improve traction on low-adhesion surfaces, and mixed-use tires. Additionally, the bus includes specialized protections for the engine and exhaust after-treatment systems to prevent damage from debris.

The bus has a capacity of 39 to 43 passengers. The model was recently presented to clients in Campo Grande and Dourados, Mato Grosso do Sul, highlighting its utility for transporting employees between urban areas and remote industrial or agricultural sites.
