Mercedes-Benz and Neumann János University launch automotive course

Mercedes-Benz and Neumann János University (NJE) have launched the ‘Made in Kecskemét’ elective course for the upcoming autumn semester. This educational initiative, developed by the Mercedes-Benz plant and the NJE Department of Innovative Vehicles and Materials, aims to strengthen the professional pipeline for the local automotive industry by providing students with direct insight into factory operations and value chains.

Plant Director Christian Dickert opened the course with a lecture covering the construction, innovative technologies, and operational processes of the Kecskemét facility. The course is open to students across various faculties, including Economics, Horticulture, and Engineering and Informatics.

In a separate development regarding product design, Mercedes-Benz is shifting its electric vehicle aesthetic away from minimalist trends. The upcoming C-Class Electric, slated for production in Kecskemét, is expected to feature more traditional automotive styling, including prominent grilles and chrome elements, to better meet consumer demand for distinctive brand identity in the electric segment.
